I Didn't Know That Dept.
Something they grow from discarded human infant foreskins is commonly used in face cream.
Yeah, I know.
So here's the thing. I think there's a great story here. Who collects foreskins, for example? What hospitals cooperate? Or are they all Chinese baby foreskins? Do the Chinese even do that to baby boys? The public has a right to know.
In fact, I think there's a whole series in health recycling. I mean, what else do they sell?
No, I have not been drinking.
Yeah, I know.

Why I Love The Intertubes
and the people who contribute to Metafilter. Because how would I ever know about this without them?
Delight for delight's sake. What is life for besides that?

La Bella Figura
Is it just me, or does Italy make better looking female politicians? One of them is a former topless top model, the far right, I think.
Okay, there's Granholm.
And — choke, struggle, gasp — Palin.
But c'mon, Albright, Napolitano, et al. Too many nitrites maybe.

Cellulite Therapy? Forget It
EVERY summer a flurry of magazine stories suggest that cellulite is a battle women can win. Women think if they diet masterfully and exercise diligently, they will have a backside as smooth as a cheerleader’s. NYTContrarienne is personally waiting for that big resveratrol breakthrough.

Elizabeth Wurtzel Is Getting Old
Bwahahaha!
No, I really don't care but I couldn't resist that.
Seems her beauty is fading and she's disappointed with life.
Jezebel calls her essay in Elle a cautionary tale.
Salon doesn't feel sorry for her either, although the word sad is in there.
I just read the first page of the essay and thought, she needs a good 12-step program.

She was so beautiful that she posed topless for her own book cover.

Angelique
It's a tulip, but I really love that I can tweak the exposure and crop the original and it looks like an abstract painting. Click on it and you'll get a screenful of it.

27 Ugly Dresses

THIS!
NO, THIS!
More here.
My all-time favorite dress was an Army green linen sheath (it was the 60s), sleeveless with narrow red or orange piping. Very cool, very designer, bought on sale. I wore it for about a minute because I weighed 108 lbs. for about that long. I was 17. Alas, there is no photographic evidence.
The all-time worst was a calf-length white formal with Kelly green trim and a very pouffy skirt. Alas, there is photographic evidence, but I'm not posting it. Maybe some other time. I was 17.
And yours?
