Namecalling 101
Michael Scherer: Four ways McCain went wrong. His bizarre campaign suspension and news cycle approach to strategery are two out of the four. We'll throw in "McCain wasn't McCain" for the media suck-ups. But the big mistake was picking the Disasta from Alaska.

Maybe even more damaging to McCain's cause than the evidence displayed by Palin in her TV interviews that she is intellectually challenged, was the rabble-rousing campaign against Obama which she either orchestrated or did nothing to discourage. This has clearly worried a number of sensible and decent voters, and turned them away from McCain.
