Forget Broadcast Journalists

an oxymoron of gigantic proportions. Forget most of what's in print, too. But when they get Joe Stiglitz to tell you something you probably don't want to hear, pay attention.

  1. Krugman is terrified? What do you think he will be after he reads the article by Joseph Stiglitz that you link to. What is most significant about both Stiglitz and Krugman's take on the current situation is that the solutions they recommend (very good ones; they are smart guys), all must go through a multi-layered polical process. And the way the situation in the automobile industry is being handled (so far) by Congress, does not bode well for economy. Too many oxes to gore.

  2. I can't figure out whether they should let Detroit fail or not, although it looks now like they will just give them enough for a slow bleed out. Gaagh.
